Discussion

We've got to learn from our experience to produce more epic.

Come on guys, we need more exposure to the public. The Pitt Street and Town Hall run on the Ides of March was epic, but epic isn't good enough.

They[CoS] had two trucks waiting for us when we got to the Org - perhaps this time we could do some recon work beforehand, find out what's going on and respond accordingly - making sure the police know if we make any drastic changes to our plan.

I think behaviour and disciple was a slight problem on 15/3, and the police were a little irked off at it, that might be something to think about.

If you do not want the Church to find your identity, the least you could do is have your mask at all times, starting from BEFORE we meet up (Hyde Park?) until you leave and are sure no one is stalking you. I really didn't think that the CoS in Australia would go so far as to stalk people and have stupidly blatant photographers snapping shots of us, but it seems as if they've upped the ante for faggotree, hence we must respond accordingly.

Petition

We need to look at organising an official petition to have Scientology's tax exempt status removed. A lot of the public on the March 15th protests where very "yeah we hate Scientology too!" So next time lets give them something to sign. We could have multiple groups with just forms for signatures and they would just head out around the main protest crowd and gather as many signatures as possible.

Things that need to be organised:

  • Uniformed petition sheets. There was one going around on February 10th Sydney, but i dont know what happened with it.
  • Clipboards and pens. Who is bringing them?
  • Common Answers to likely common questions should be provided. This too needs to be uniform.
  • Who is collecting them at the end of the day and what are we doing with them
  • Should the results be used nationally or at a state level or both.

If you are taking a petition please be aware that scilons may attempt to ruin a petition sheet or two by scribbling the fuck out of it. Turn to a new page for anyone suspicious and remove full sheets from the clipboard. DO NOT EVER hand the clipboard to the person, hold it out for them to sign and hold it TIGHT.

Update: Online petition has been made via GoPetition.com.au
http://www.gopetition.com.au/online/17778.html
Strategy is to advertise the cause to interested interweb surfers and hopefully promote the entire Chanology operation with a positive tone.

  • Sign
  • Spread (Digg, email, Youtube/Myspace/Facebook comments, IRC, anything)
  • ?????
  • PROPHET![sic]

More or less designed mostly for promotion, I cant imagine that an online petition will sway Governments to reconsider tax exemption, unless the response is GENUINELY epic.
